Whas doubt mean?

So my cousin and I were on a walk and the sky was clouded. She was telling me how it looked like it was going to rain. She kept saying how she really thought it was gonna rain, then she says, "I doubt it's gonna rain!" She paused. "Shawnie, what does doubt mean?"

It was pretty cute.
